Interesting Facts
  • Older than the estate: Inns Court takes its name from a historic manor, not a modern courthouse.
  • Built between wars: Much of Knowle West was developed as council housing in the 1930s on land that had previously been farmland.
  • Wild edge: The Northern Slopes, beside Knowle West, are a designated Local Nature Reserve rather than simply undeveloped land.
  • Local creativity: Knowle West Media Centre uses art and digital technology to work with residents on projects about their neighbourhood.
